Nov 23 – IOM rankings updated

The Canadian IOM rankings have been updated and are published here.
Congratulations to Peter Grimm for finishing 31st out of 76 boats at the 2019 IOM World Championship Regatta held in Porto Alegre, Brazil. A well sailed event for his first International competition.


Sep 23 – The DF65 NCR results are in

The 2019 Canadian Nationals are in the books and updated HMS scoring has the following official placings – 1st Peter Grimm, 2nd Bob Lewis, 3rd Brian Woodward, 4th Wilson Chong, 5th Don Martin.

Sep 21 – Membership Application and Renewals are now $10 for the next year (2020).

The renewal and application forms have been combined updated. There are now 2 forms, one for PayPal and one for Cheque or Interac e-Transfer payments. They can be found here.

Sep 16 – The Eastern IOM Regional Regatta was held at Kingston Yacht Club this past weekend

The conditions on Saturday, steady 25 knots of wind with gusts to 35 knots and 6 foot seas. Results & photos with a brief report are posted here.

Sep 8 – 2020 Twin World Championship web site now open

The official website for the 2020 IRSA Marblehead and Ten Rater World Championships has been launched. The link is here  There is also an announcement flyer available here.


Aug 25 – IOM Prairie Regional Regatta results

17 races were completed in very changeable breeze. Jerry Brower led the fleet with very consistent sailing on Saturday, to lose out on top spot to Gary Boell, who achieved 6 wins from 8 Sunday races. Martin Herbert, in the top placed woody, took 3rd spot from Andrew Baak by a single point. Luke H.

Aug 22 – Western Region DF65 Championship Regatta

RVYC is please to invite DF65 skippers to the Western Regional, scheduled for Sunday, October 20. Details are on the right Calendar Pane.

Aug 22 – CanAm Regatta results

Aug 15 – IOM ICA 2019 AGM Notice of Meeting

Get your Resolutions in to the CRYA IOM Secretary before Aug. 26th so they can be presented to the IOM ICA Secretary.

Aug 3 – DF 95 Ontario Regional Championship Regatta

Metro Marine Modellers announce the 2019 DF95 Ontario Regional Championship on Sunday Sept 22. See the calendar pane on the right for more details.

July 26 Soling 1M NCR has been rescheduled to September 28/29

Thanks to the members of the Halifax Area Model Yacht Club, who stepped up to fill the void, the Soling 1M NCR has been rescheduled to September 28/29 but in a new location – Halifax, NS. See the calendar entry on the right side pane for more info.

July 26 EC-12 NCR has been scheduled for September 27 in conjunction with the Soling 1M event

June 19 – Soling 1M NCR has been deferred

Due to Spring flooding the Soling 1M NCR to be held on July 5 -7th has been postponed. A new date will be announced here as soon as it becomes available. The event calendar has been updated to reflect this change.


May 7 – IOM Canadian Rankings updated

The latest IOM skipper rankings have been published here.
The ranking information page has also been updated to clarify which events qualify for ranking.

April 25 – SSL now enabled on new website hosting

The CRYA website has been moved to a new web hosting site which now includes an SSL certificate, along with improved performance. All pages should now be shown as secure in your web browser.

April 7 – Sail Canada Code of Conduct

Sail Canada has announced a Code of Conduct and as CRYA is affiliated to Sail Canada, this applies us. The document may be downloaded here

The opening points of the Code are copied below to give you a sense of its intent.
Sail Canada Code of Conduct
1. Purpose and Scope
1.1. The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to ensure that a safe and positive environment is possible at all times within Sail Canada programs, activities and events, by making Sail Canada participants aware that there is an expectation of appropriate behaviour consistent with the Sail Canada core values of integrity, adaptability, collaboration and respect, inclusiveness, accountability and leadership.
1.2. This Code of Conduct identifies the standard of behaviour that is expected of all Sail Canada participants.

March 25 – Coastal Cup IOM regattas NOR & Entry form

The NOR for the 2019 Coastal Cup IOM regattas has been posted here, along with an entry form on this page (wait 10 seconds and click submit again if it fails the first time).

March 18 – Beaver Fever, BC Regional IOM ranking event

This was one of the better BFs I have attended based on good wind and relatively weed free conditions combined with sunny weather. Remember this is also #1 of 8 Coastal Cup regattas being held in 2019. Results are here.

Deadline for the Winter issue of Canadian Radio Yachting for all articles, notices of regattas & changes to regatta schedules, and ads.
