The Canadian Radio Yachting Association (CRYA) allows you representation on a National and International level for racing, but we’re not just about racing.
We support local groups that just wish to sail and have fun or who wish to build boats, sails, etc. We have a system of representatives whose mandate is to promote RC sailing activities in their regions. These representatives, Regional Directors, have access to lists of CRYA. sailors and clubs in their regions and work to promote the association and it’s activities in their region. Each CRYA sanctioned, active class of boat has a Class Secretary, available for support and technical advice or direction if needed. The Class Secretaries have our Technical Director as back-up support.
We will keep you informed about class events, boat shows, regattas, regional events, etc. The CRYA. has a quarterly newsletter that is produced by and for the membership. Some back issues are available for view on the CRYA. website. The Newsletter presents announcements of racing events, articles on boat building, space for members to author articles or make announcements. The Newsletter is sent to all current members and offers some advertising space available to businesses offering RC services, supplies and equipment.
There is also a members only forum for sharing information on events by class or region as well as a Classifieds section. This is also a forum for communications between the membership and the board. It can be accessed here. You must be a member in good standing & provide your email address, membership number, postal code and real first and last name to register.
Consider becoming a member of the CRYA. today. The cost is now $10.00.
Due to Covid-19 curtailing sailing activities in 2021, as well as a healthy financial account, the CRYA board has voted to waive the membership renewal fee for 2022 for 2021 members in good standing. New membership cards were emailed out in early December 2021.
